Marine Jobs: Many Opportunities, Rapid Advancement

Over the next decade, there will be employment opportunities as a result of retirements and from anticipated changes in the Marine sector.

There are many advantages for graduates of the Marine Training at Georgian College:

• It is projected that 1,300 jobs are projected to arise over the next ten years
• Of the 1300 jobs, 73% will arise through the need to replace retiring personnel
• Over 98% of the projected jobs are for full-time work, with the majority tied to the shipping season
• Europe has a shortage of qualified individuals and currently has over 85,000 vacant positions as Ship’s Officers.
