About Marine Training at Georgian College
The Georgian College Great Lakes International Marine Training and Research Centre offers two streams of study. Each three-year program has been planned in co-operation with Transport Canada and national shipping companies. There are also a variety of upgrading and certification courses offered at the Great Lakes International Marine Training and Research Centre.

Marine Engineering Technology Program
The program consists of six academic semesters as well as two mandatory co-op work terms. Graduates of the program may begin their careers as Marine Engineering Officers. Starting salaries range from $58,000 to $70,000.
Marine Technology-Navigation Program
The program consists of six academic semesters as well as three mandatory co-op work terms. Graduates of the program may begin their careers as Marine Navigation Officers. Starting salaries range from $60,000 to $80,000.
